The Washington Commanders are seeking an Events Intern who will be responsible for assisting with execution of Special Events, Major Stadium Events, and Commanders home games at Northwest Stadium. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event management, fan experience, and event operations.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assisting with execution of Special Events, Major Stadium Events, and Commander’s home games under the direction of the Sr. Manager of Events & Production and other department staff members.
· Help organize and execute internal stakeholder events (Sales, Sponsorship, Community Relations, Marketing etc.)
· Collaborate with various internal teams to ensure the successful execution of all events.
· Attend meetings with clients, vendors and internal departments as appropriate to prepare for events.
· Assist with overseeing gameday hospitality areas and pre and post gameday operations.
· Assist with large scale team events such as Training Camp, Draft Party, and other events as needed.
· Oversee part-time staff for events and activations.
· Create event timelines, layouts, and budgets estimates for assigned events.
· Support as manager on duty for assigned events.
· Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Current student (minimum Junior Level) or recent graduate from a four-year accredited college or university.
· 1 year of experience working in either events, operations, or marketing.
· Demonstrated ability to deliver on assigned tasks
· Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required for home games and events.
· Strong passion for sports and knowledge of the sports industry, especially soccer and event management.
· Ability to maintain confidential and/or proprietary information.
· The ability to multi-task, establish priorities and work well in a fast paced and team environment.
· Ability to lift a minimum of 45lbs and be on your feet for extended periods of time in all weather conditions.
Knowledge and Skills:
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willing to learn event-specific software.
· A professional demeanor with the ability to interact with our fans, professional athletes & executive front office personnel
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
